Fridays are all about books that I so wanted to love, but in the end, they just weren’t up to snuff for even a mediocre eh.
2. The Weekend by Peter Cameron was actually the book that inspired this series way back when I read it and didn’t even have a blog. This little ‘gem’ was in the Bargain Books section of the local Barnes and Noble and being a short book, I was intrigued. The story was good, and the characters were good, but in the end, the story just drops. There is no conclusion, no cliffhanger, nothing, nada, zip, zilch. Yes, I do agree with others that this story for the first 2/3rds was wonderful. In the end however, I just can’t get over the way it just stops.
Ever read one of those books that has a great premise but nothing concludes and there is no more book? This is one of them and sadly has found it’s way to becoming my second nominee for Friday Flops.
