Friday Flops — The Weekend

Fri­days are all about books that I so wanted to love, but in the end, they just weren’t up to snuff for even a mediocre eh.

2. The Week­end by Peter Cameron was actu­ally the book that inspired this series way back when I read it and didn’t even have a blog.  This lit­tle ‘gem’ was in the Bar­gain Books sec­tion of the local Barnes and Noble and being a short book, I was intrigued.  The story was good, and the char­ac­ters were good, but in the end, the story just drops.  There is no con­clu­sion, no cliffhanger, noth­ing, nada, zip, zilch.  Yes, I do agree with oth­ers that this story for the first 2/​3rds was won­der­ful.  In the end how­ever, I just can’t get over the way it just stops.

Ever read one of those books that has a great premise but noth­ing con­cludes and there is no more book?  This is one of them and sadly has found it’s way to becom­ing my sec­ond nom­i­nee for Fri­day Flops.
