8. Men of Tomor­row: Geeks, Gang­sters, and the Birth of the Comic Book by Ger­ard Jones

I loved this book so much.  It gives a very in depth his­tory of the begin­ning and rise of comic books.  In par­tic­u­lar it focuses on the orig­i­nals, Super­man, Bat­man, along with many oth­ers.  It details the orig­i­nal creator’s lives and how they came to be inter­ested not only in the sto­ries but the devel­op­ment of the every grow­ing cul­ture of the comic book world.  If you are a fan of a good his­tory or comics in gen­eral, you should def­i­nitely pick up this book.  I can’t rec­om­mend it enough.
