9. Forever by Pete Hamill
This book follows a young boy of Celtic descent as he grows into a man, seeking revenge on the descendants of the man who kills his family. From the old world to the new, Forever reveals a great deal about the time when New York city was growing and changing all the way up to the present day. Forever has a bit of mysticism, a bit of romance, and a lot of fantastic adventures in an ever changing city. I have read this twice now and it will always have a place on my shelf.
