10. The Lucifer Prin­ci­ple by Howard Bloom

This book is one of the non-​​fiction books that really struck a chord with me.  Bloom has writ­ten a cou­ple of excel­lent books, and I am work­ing on his most recent, The Genius of the Beast which already exceeds the great­ness I found in his ear­lier works.  The Lucifer Prin­ci­ple delves into the his­tory of soci­eties.  How did Eng­land rise to become a world power only to fall from that upper most posi­tion?  What causes these events to hap­pen?  Are they pre­dictable?  Is his­tory des­tined to repeat itself?  These are all ques­tions that are explored and answered in the Lucifer Prin­ci­ple.  An excel­lent read that any­one with an inter­est will enjoy as much as I have.
