A demon …
Every soul he claims is another chance to advance. Until he can walk among us, look like us, make us believe in him. The only thing holding him back is …
An angel…
The rules of the realm bind him from fighting on the demon’s terms. But this is his chance to steal something away from the demon, to steal the thing the demon wants most …
A woman who must choose …
A woman who has been chosen. Katharine is suddenly a pawn in a game where the rules and the stakes are beyond her comprehension. She must take a side even though she can’t tell angel from demon. And in the end, they will all be judged.
I can’t believe she’s done it again. This is the third book by Scudiere that I’ve read/listened to the audiomovie and each one is so profoundly different and unique that it’s amazing. There are a number of authors that I’ve read multiple books by and sometimes I can only read so many as they start to sound like the same story re-written with a little difference here or there. John Saul, who I read a lot of in my early teenage years, is a classic example of this writing style. Somehow Scudiere manages to write vastly different tales and each one is perfect and cherished in its own way.
God’s Eye is the story of Katherine, a woman who has it all. She’s shuffled from position to position at her father’s well established multi-million dollar investment firm learning the ropes so that when her father finally steps down she can take over. But is that really what she wants? Before she meets Allistair and Zachary, she knows her path. It might not be the one she will choose in the end, but it is what she has been groomed for and she doesn’t even consider something else. But when Allistair and Zachary start to reveal how the world really is and how it could be for her, and she makes a true friend in the librarian, Margot, Katherine’s world is turned upside down and she is forced to consider her life and her decisions.
Truly a wonderful read, as are Scudiere’s other books, I highly recommend you pick this up when it releases and read it for yourself. It will make you think and you will fall in love with the characters, the angel, the demon, and of course, Katherine.
